The pedagogy
A quiz-oriented so-called
pep
(pedagogical panel) is placed on a door panel. If the answer is entered correctly, the gate opens.
Another pep can sit on the back of the door.
Examples of peps:
•
touch screen
: very flexible, "infinite" question batteries, conveys image and sound, allows input of
both text and handwriting
•
av-module
: mounted either in the post itself or on the door, and asks questions (audio) and can receive
sound response or identify objects held in front of it
•
keypad
: basic set with, for example, 2-10 buttons that are provided with replaceable, unique templates with holes
for the buttons (for different themes and questions), or just entice the entry of a code (popular with preschool children)
(click on the math buttons)
•
placing board
: for example, the child moves a pretend carrot to a pretend rabbit, or a pretend piece of meat to a pretend lion
•
discovery board
: a magnet is moved, for example, over a disc with different materials (metal sheets, plastic, wood, etc.) and
the child discovers which ones are magnetic while a voice pronounces the names of the materials
•
instruction board
: physical objects on top of a background image that, for example, shows a simple circuit diagram that
the child must follow (see picture below), or assembly instructions for a simple table
Successful test on 5-year-olds at Delfinen's preschool
After a year of development work, we are now launching an outdoor version, which can withstand weather,
wind and uneven grounds such as a school yard.
Because it is relatively easy to set up and take down, several schools can subscribe to it, for example
for one month, quarter or six months at a time.
How to program it?
